Elegant, quietly ornate, hand-carved and painted pedestal, Italian-made dining table with glass top. Carved wooden pedestal dining table base, three-sided, made in Italy for Lillian August and bought from Julia Grey Ltd, in 2002. This table has seated six people comfortably and appreciated by all. GLASS TABLE TOP (60 INCHES DIAMETER -- INCLUDED IN PRICE)
The base alone, originally bought from Julia Grey and Co for $5200. In very good condition. Styled in the Italian Baroque manner, it is beautifully carved with acanthus leaves on the three-sides base, with passementerie style swags under the top layer of scroll work. Hand painted in a grey and beige matte patiné finish with touches of champagne tan wash.
The 60-inch round glass top is one inch thick with beveled edge. Base is 29.5 inches high, twelve inches in the midway up base, 24 inches from leg to leg, and 19 inches between three top surfaces. Top flat surfaces 8 ¼ inch wide and base “legs” are 13 ¼ wide. less
