This marvelous wine goblet or tumbler is created in gorgeous sterling silver by London silversmith, Thomas Death and dates around 1814. The gradually flared rim is banded, while the body of this beautiful goblet is surrounded by two groups of nine rings each. The pedestal base steps up to the cup. There are monogrammed, scripted initials in the center: "WAG." Hallmarks are: "TD=Thomas Death, Rampant Lion=English sterling silver, Leopard head with crown=London, T=date of 1814, Assay mark=George III profile to the right." Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Height from top to bottom=5 inches, Width at rim=3-1/2 inches, Depth of cup=3-3/4 inches, Weight=5.967 Troy ounces. This marvelous goblet has been well cared for, gently used and is in excellent antique condition. There is light scratching and a few dings, noticeable under magnification that is commensurate with age and use. It is the perfect addition to your silver collection, particularly if you like the Regency style!
