Antique Ashworth Bros. “Tea House” Pattern Ironstone Dinner Bowls. These patterned bowls have a polychrome Chinoiserie lustre pattern. That were made in Staffordshire circa 1862-90.
The pattern is frequently called "The Tea House" as it depicts two women in the garden outside of a charming house. Inside of the house sits another woman, possibly the chaperone. The colors are unique tinted in soft pinks greens and gold. There is intricate detail in the plate. These are very old and very rare. They were produced in the 1840s to 1890s.
Two bowls are marked H&C (Hope & Carter manufactured earthenware at Fountain Place in Burslem 1862-80 and were taken over by G L Ashworth & Bros in c.1880) while two are marked Ashworth LS&S.
