Found in France, this circa 1910 Empire style chest of four drawers has a new ebonised finish and black marble … more Found in France, this circa 1910 Empire style chest of four drawers has a new ebonised finish and black marble top. Decorative columns on the front sides have brass trim and all drawers have dovetail construction, and functional locks with brass escutcheons. Additional brass appliques include a bust on the top drawer front and at the base a chariot scene. A black marble top with white streaks covers the top. Unknown maker.

Very good overall antique condition with a new, professionally applied ebonised finish. There is some warping to the top which results in some gaps in how the marble top fits - see detail photos with back and side views. Marble top does not wobble and gaps are only visible from back and side view. less
