Description: This Really is a Exceptionally Nice & Quite Rare Authentic Antique American Primitive - Folk Art Chinese Checkers ( Marbles … more This Really is a Exceptionally Nice & Quite Rare Authentic Antique American Primitive - Folk Art Chinese Checkers ( Marbles & Dice ) Game Board. It was Made at the Tail End of Victorian Era - Circa Approx. 1900. It is Completely Hand Made - Crafted out of a 1 Inch Thick - One Piece Solid Indigenous American Pine Wood Slab. The Solid One Piece Slab of Pine Wood has Become Very Slightly Bowed as a Natural Result of Age, Exposure and Seasoning. It Still Retains its All Original Hand Fainted Features that Includes Silver "Radiator" Paint. Note that Radiator Paint was the First Silver Paint Ever Produced. It was Originally Made to be Used to Paint the Old Style Floor Standing Cast Iron Steam Heating Radiators that were Commonly used in Many Households and Industrial Settings at the Time. Silver Paint was Novelty and Was Often Used in The Making of American Folk Art Items. It is in Very Good All Original Condition and Displays Beautifully. It has Seen Much Use Over the Years and Along the Way has Since Developed That Wonderful Honest Aged Color and Patina That Cannot be Duplicated. It is Absolutely Authentic and Not a Reproduction. At the Time that This was made These Types of Early American Game Boards were Not Just for Game Use - They Were Also Hung on a Wall for Decorative Purposes.
