A timeless icon of design this wonderful set of eight model #3107 (also known as the "series-7") stacking dining chairs in black were designed by arne jacobsen for fritz hansen in 1955. This set are an early production model with a rarely seen registered and numbered metal cap, april 1964. In the late 60’s fritz hansen then changed to the more commonly seen plastic stamped cap. The cap carries the made in denmark, the danish control furnituremakers emblem and the fh logo along with the year. This is important for collectors who are not looking to buy the more usual plastic cap chairs you find on later production models. This highly practical early set of 8 dining side chairs are stackable which makes them very practical and a versatile solution for those who are seeking to reduce furniture around a table or save space. The series 7-chair was widely assumed to have been used in lewis morley''s iconic photograph of christine keeler; however, the chair he used in this photograph was an imitation and not an original jacobsen. The chair used was a copy of a series 7 with a hand hold cut into the back however after the publishing of the photos sales of the arne jacobsen "7" chair rose dramatically. This set of eight "series seven" arne jacobsen for fritz hansen dining chairs would work great in a mid-century modern, scandanavian modern or danish modern home or penthouse flat but could also look fantastic in a contemporary or post-modern room. Also consider mixing it up in a traditional, transitional, classical or art deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. Consider using as side chairs, dining, cafe or breakfast table chairs, bedside chairs, fireside chairs, dressing or changing room chairs, hallway chairs, entryway or mudroom chairs, nursing or reading chairs, conference room chairs, office or desk guest chairs, lobby lounge chairs or occasional chairs ideal in virtually any setting. arne jacobsen series 7 chair weight 3.8kg height 77.7cm x width 46cm x depth 52cm height when stacked as 4 this piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution less
