Dada or Dadaism is an art movement of the European Avant - Garde in the early 20th Century. The term " Anti - Art " was coined by Marcel Duchamp in 1931 as a precursor to the Dada movement. In addition to being Anti war, Dada also had political affiliation to the extreme liberal left and was also anti - bourgeois.
