Engraved by Charles Henry Mottram (British, 1807–1876), after an original watercolor painting by British-American artist John William Hill (1812-1879)
Published originally in the US by Benjamin F. Smith (1830–1927) of Smith Brothers & Co., NY and by Sawle & Wards, 14 Summer Street, Boston
Published as well in England by Paul & Dominic Colnaghi & Co., 13-14 Pall Mall East
Published in France by François Delarue (active 1850–1870)
Inscribed underneath, lower left and lower right, and in the center above the title BOSTON - Entered according to the Act of Congress 1857 by B.F. Smith in the Clerk's Office of the District Court of the District of Massachusetts

All original period hand tinted engraving and etching, circa 1857
Framed in a dark tone wooden frame, without glass
Can be shipped without the frame, per buyer request
Measurements: Approx. 48.25" x 36" framed; 38.5" x 24.5" the scene; 41.5" x 28.5" inside matting
Weighs about 7 lbs. 8 oz.
Condition: Very good overall. Please see photos below. All original. Original colors are still vivid. A small spot of mispaint (in the sky) and surface scratches on paper. Minor age discoloration. Marvelous display of a MAJESTIC scenery, nevertheless!
