Each … more For your consideration is an outstanding set of three (3) antique hand painted porcelain tiles/plaques, depicting different landscape scenes. Each of these exceptional plaques has three (3) vertical lines of calligraphy and two (2) red seals on the upper left side. They come with a nice, finely carved painted and gold gild frame, each depicting different scenes on the upper and lower sections. The panels (wood portion) measure 28 3/8" (72 cm) tall by 11.5" (29.2 cm) wide. The tiles along measure approximately 13 5/8" (34.6 cm) tall by 9 3/8" (23.8 cm) wide. The three screens together weight over 18 pounds. What makes these tiles rare is that the paintings were created on top of the fired tiles, but there is not much glaze over the paintings. The porcelain plaques are in great condition, free of chips, cracks or repairs. As shown on the photos, there are damages on the wood that include discolorations, nicks and chips (not a big deal for such old and magnificent screens). Also, the hanger on top of one of the panels is missing a part; hence, detached from the frame. Please take a closer look at all photos for details regarding the design of each tile. less
