While the embroidery is in excellent condition, the back-side of the black silk shows fading and marking likely from detergent. These marks are significantly less seen or noticeable from the front. There also are a couple of pin holes along the edge. Please view the photos which shows the detergent marks on the backside. The first photos are of the front and the difference is shown. It appears the fringe has been trimmed over the years more in some areas. In as-found condition. Please note it is the nature of long hanging threads to tangle when moving. This item will be shipped in an effort to minimize tangling. They can be untangled to maintain original length. Please reach out with questions. less

Floral motif showcases a brightly colored border of pink daisies with blue centers and leaves. Interior displays three-tone red peonies and three tone orange lilies with blue centers. Further accents of leaves and berries with emerging buds in reds, pinks, and blues.
The detail in this artistry is magnificent. Quality planned composition and color.
Not to be outdone are the birds of a feather of differing size. See the photo showing the handiwork of the backside of these birds.
This is a very large shawl measuring with a variety of uses.
Many today not only use for piano decor and protection, but also as table covering. As in the 1920’s they are also enjoyed as a garment. Wearable as a shawl with or without a belt or sash. Many are turning them into higher end evening wear.
This antique textile is considered fair condition. While the embroidery is in excellent condition with no pulling or fraying, the back-side of the black silk shows fading and marking likely from detergent. These marks are significantly less seen or noticeable from the front. There also are a couple of pin holes along the edge.
Please view the photos which shows the detergent marks from the backside. The first photos are of the front and the last of the unseen backside showing a marked difference.
The final photo shows the exceptional embroidery work of the bird from the back.
This large shawl measures-rounded fabric square approximately 54” edge to edge and 72” on the diagonal. The hand knotted fringe measures 4.5” wide with the fringe itself from 8”-16”
