It is hand painted wood, and decorated in gold with CIAO CIAO CIAO on the bottom of the gracefully curved body.
It has been in my family for a number of years, and loving used. It works great.
I love it because it is large and functional. Holds lots of peppercorns. It makes a statement in the Italian kitchen! less
