He studied architecture but eventually moved on to study painting. He moved to Madrid in 1968 and developed an interest in the Movida Madrilène, a cultural movement that began after Franco''s death in the early 1980s in Spain. His painting then began to take on neo-mannerist looks. He was also interested in engraving and lithography then experimented with bronze, ceramics, furniture and rug design. His work has earned him prestigious prizes such as the National Prise for Plastic Arts in 1985, the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts in 2006 or the Culture Prise of the Autonomous Community of Madrid. The 1992 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXV Olympiad and commonly known as Barcelona ''92, were an international multi-sport event held from 25 July to 9 August 1992 in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Beginning in 1994, the International Olympic Committee decided to hold the Summer and Winter Olympics in alternating even-numbered years. 1992 was the last year in which both the Summer and Winter Olympics were staged. The 1992 Summer Games were the first since the end of the Cold War, and the first unaffected by boycotts since the 1972 Summer Games.1992 was also the first year South Africa was re-invited to the Olympic Games by the International Olympic Committee, after a 32-year ban from participating in international sport. less
