The Barovier artistic glassworks has existed since the mid-13th century and is therefore the sixth oldest family business in the world still in business.
In 1926, Ercole Barovier, Benvenuto's son, took over the artistic direction of the company, which merged with the F.lli Toso glassworks in 1936, taking the current name of Barovier & Toso. Ercole invented the new technique of hot colouring without melting the glass. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
