Antique Persian Serapi Carpet in Warm Red, Ivory, and Blue With Geometric Design. Keivan Woven Arts; rug TRA-1010, country of origin / type: Iran / Serapi, circa 1900.
Measures: 10'4 x 15'.
This antique Persian Serapi carpet displays a wonderful Sub-geometric design containing a multitude of decorative palmettes, acanthus leaves, pomegranates and blossoms. The rug is woven in the traditional color palette of reds, blues and ivory, and it holds a stunning four-point medallion at its center. Four joined cornices hold in place the surrounding complementary border. The inner and outer guards present a repeating pattern of alternating red and blue flowers. The central border displays sub-geometric motifs of botehs, vines and flowers. Overall, a beautiful work of art that features a pleasing colorful palette with a delightful traditional design. less
