- This mid-century lamp brought the future to the 1950s in a very big way. I love this piece for its … more This mid-century lamp brought the future to the 1950s in a very big way. I love this piece for its space age design that makes it appear more like a planetary sculpture than a lamp. The multiple bands, some opening slightly at the tallest points, create a very complex and intricate design. The lamp base is constructed of brass with four original glass globes. Each globe has a brass band around it, and a 3 way switch to illuminate 1, 2, or all 4 globes. Overall the piece is in very good condition with the brass showing spotting and discoloration due to wear and commensurate of age less
