Description: This is a very good example of an early 19th c. Regency Tole Chestnut Urn . The black urn is … more This is a very good example of an early 19th c. Regency Tole Chestnut Urn . The black urn is finely decorated in Chinese motifs with lion head and ring side handles. The painted decoration, which remains in very good condition, depicts naval scenes. All elements of the urn remain in very good condition. The lid is also decorated with a Chinese motif. The original interior rim of the lid has been resoldered, as shown in the photo; this restoration does not affect the appearance of the urn. The lion heads are well-cast and in good condition. less
