This sketch has been in my collection for many years as I attended the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky and took classes with John Tuska as he taught classes in the BFA program. I have another piece of his, a beautiful cast sculpture of a woman's torso with a turquoise stone necklace.
Artist bio: John Regis Tuska (1931 Yukon, Pennsylvania –1998) was an American artist and educator who was a professor at the University of Kentucky. He is renowned for his work in ceramics, ink, paper cast, and watercolor, among other mediums. Later in his career, Tuska established himself as a sculptor of striking bronze figures, but also as a draftsman, painter, designer and photographer.
