I can't be certain where or when these were made. I acquired them at a farm auction in rural VA, and they're outside my wheel house. All I know for sure is that they're pretty, fancy, and cool. Covered in fine and elaborate engraving and filigree, with overall inlaid silver decoration (some loss).

The only marks I can find, are inside the heel bands where the shank comes through. Right at the very back-center, just above where the top of the boot heel would be. One is distinctively stamped with a 5 pointed star. On the mate the stamp is indistinctive. It could possibly be a diamond, a heart, or maybe just an oval. It definitely isn’t a star. The rowels are 3.5” diameter. 8” long overall, and the spread at the ends of the heel bands is 3.625"
