This Robert Longo Men in the Cities poster is titled Rick and is, arguably (along with Eric), one of the most dynamically expressive works of the entire series in regard to its fluidity and sense of frenetic speed. The print was signed in black marker on the lower right side by Robert Longo and is in overall good condition. There are a few scratch marks on the left facing leg of the figure that could be repaired by a paper restorer. Please see photograph. About the Artist:
Robert Longo was born in New York in the borough of Brooklyn in 1953 and raised on Long Island. Longo became interested and intrigued with all manner of mass media including television, popular movies, comics and magazines which continues to influence his work today. This fascination is evident in much of his work, including his most recognized Men in the Cities series of well dressed men and women depicted in energetic and contorted gestures set against a white background. These taunt, stylized figures captured in motion are exceptionally dynamic, compelling and among Longo’s most sought after works. Robert Longo is represented in the collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; the Museum of Modern Art in New York; the Tate, London, the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, and many more international art institutions less
