- This exquisite antique hand colored engraving / lithograph was published by Kimmel & Forster and featured in the ladies’ monthly … more This exquisite antique hand colored engraving / lithograph was published by Kimmel & Forster and featured in the ladies’ monthly illustrated magazine called ‘Mme Demorest’s Mirror of Fashions,’ circa 1865 - 1869. Interestingly, the magazine presented a wide variety of topics that were of interest to women in the late 1800s such as, original stories, poems, “reliable” fashion plates, full size patterns, recipes and other literary matter. This magazine was headquartered in New York but was also published in England and Scotland. A sign of the times. The print is still vibrant in its newer, more modern ivory matte and gilt wood frame. Ready to hang. less
