The design is after a Ming Dynasty table from the 17 Century but in the size suitable for modern homes. The table tops are made with mitered construction with moving panels to allow expansion and contraction according to the changes in weather. Bridge stretchers give the open apron an airy look with no ornamentation except for four vertical rods. The four rounded legs are supported by bridge stretchers also. The finish is well done. The table tops show the beautiful graining of the elm wood. The structure supporting the table tops are rounded, giving an appearance of lightness.
