Artist Varin, Copyright Sidney F. Lucas. Engraved in aquatint in the early 19th century. This pretty engraving depicts the start of the Wall Street in 1829. Wall Street is lined with a few tall building on either side of the street including the Law Book Store. The fine details of archways and columns depict classical architecture from the past. A horse drawn carriage can be seen in the street and the side walks are scattered with few people. The soft colors add contrast to the black, straight lines of the buildings. This engraving is in excellent condition with light signs of age related wear. There are no stains, rips or tears on the artwork. This piece in unframed. Dimensions: 21"x27" less
