Constructed by Bauhaus designer Christian Dell. Manufactured in Germany in the 1950s. Labeled by Kaiser Leuchten.
Already since 1926 Christian Dell designed lamps under the label iDell, mostly for the Kaiser Leuchten manufacture. Dell, born in 1893 in Offenbach am Main, Germany, first studied as a silversmith at the Weimar Art Academy, which was renamed the Bauhaus in 1919. The Bauhaus was an institution where academically trained master craftsmen could both work and teach in close collaboration with industry. The Bauhaus produced many innovative designs that are still recognized as design icons today.
Christian Dell passed away in July 1974. The most famous work of Bauhaus designer Christian Dell is the series of lamps Kaiser Idell. Classics of 20th century design and a lasting symbol of the legacy of the Bauhaus.
