This large oil jar was produced between 1926 and 1940 by an Italian workshop where young women were taught to produce likenesses of the 14th and 15th Century pottery of Pisa. The line is extremely rare as the school was only in existence for a short time and probably ended due to World War II when Italy joined Germany in 1940. The piece is boldly patterned with fishes and it has an incised mark on the bottom. This line of Italian pottery seldom comes on the market in America in any condition and is a true collector piece. less
