Tunbridge ware is a form of decoratively inlaid woodwork, typically in the form of boxes, that is characteristic of Tonbridge and the spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells in Kent in the 18th and 19th centuries.
This wooden document box is a beautiful example of the craftsmanship involved in making a box that would be an attractive addition to any decor. The box has inlaid mother of pearl on the top and the keyhole. There is no key but the locking mechanism is there if you want to have one made by a locksmith.
