Beautiful Fratello Toso "overshot" blue glass bowls with underplates. Overshot is a technique originating in Murano, Italy where glass crystals are applied to the backs of the blown glass. The bowls are highly scalloped and ruffled. The underplates are in the shape of leaves. There are six sets: 6 bowls and 6 underplates. Made in Italy in the 1950s. One bowl has a manufacturing defect (see last photo). The bowl is still functional and does not leak when water is placed inside. Dimensions: Underplate: 8" wide, 1" high. Bowl: 6" wide, 2 3/4" high
These bowls and underplates would make a beautiful table setting for a Spring luncheon.
