Studio tray by Carolyn Leung, circa 1970s. Undulating pastel colored coils elegantly frame the oval white interior like a art nouveau mirror. Feminine and dreamy, perfect to hold perfumes in your boudoir or iced confections at tea. Signed on verso.
Carolyn Leung was a native New Yorker who received her M.F.A. from the Pratt Institute and later studied at the Greenwich House Pottery in the 1970's.
Leung died in 2009. From her obituary: "Carolyn, a ceramist, founded The Bittersweet Pottery Company in 1976, which she co-owned and operated with her husband, in New York City and then Stone Ridge, to which the family moved in 1988. She was a member of the American
Craft Council and exhibited her work in their venues throughout her career." less
