The chime on the hour hits a bell on top. It has a nice sound The clock is quite gorgeous. There are some signs of normal wear and age. Some of the Boulle work has been repaired. A few small etched details have gone missing over the years. The back door is a tad loose. Some of its inner inlay has gone missing over the years, but it’s not too noticeable since it’s inside the clock. The front door and sides once had glass. There is no glass at the moment. The front skeleton key is missing, but the door is unlocked and still opens without problem. Please note that any mechanical clock that is shipped might require adjustments upon arrival and thus time accuracy cannot be guaranteed. less

This clock was made around 1710 by Nicolas Delaunay. It is signed on the movement plate and on the the dial.
The case was most likely a collaboration with famed cabinet maker, André Charles Boulle. The case is made in the Boulle style and several articles regarding 18th century French cabinet making have noted that Boulle and Delaunay often collaborated works.
This piece is adorned with elaborate bronze detailing throughout.
