Description: This cleanly-designed minimalist French Modernist delight, with its substantial spread of 23 inches, evokes outer-space travel, a favorite theme of … more This cleanly-designed minimalist French Modernist delight, with its substantial spread of 23 inches, evokes outer-space travel, a favorite theme of that futuristic era. The shades, with their spare, flying-saucer lines, are perfectly suited to the esthetic of the metal. It's freshly chrome-plated, and probably looks better than when it was brand new, back in the 20s or 30s (modern chrome plating eclipses the older method). Disassembled, re-plated in polished chrome (over solid brass), and rewired and fitted with American candelabra sockets (each can host a 60-watt bulb for a potential of 300 watts of light).
