Used on cattle herds in Austria, the Bavarian section of Germany, Northern Italy, and Switzerland, they were intended for use to locate the grazing herds. While this bell is absolutely decorative, it works like a charm, and it's LOUD!! Perfect for a Texas or Montana ranch on an actual cow, can also be used to wrangle teenagers to show up for dinner, can be hung on a door as a knocker.
