A very beautiful early wall salt box
Hand made from a high quality exotic wood with reddish color, most likely flame mahogany
Marquetry inlay band upfront outlines the edges
Open work top decoration carving
Brass hinges hold the lid, which opens and closes perfectly well
Very fine work altogether
Circa 1810-1820's, Anglo-American in Federal/Regency taste. Found in Massachusetts

Measurements: Approx. 14.25" tall with the carved top. 9" tall box only x 8" wide x 7" deep
