This vintage 6x6 Persian kilim is handwoven in wool, and originates circa 1950-1960.
On the Design:
This piece is believed to be a “Turkmen Palas”—flatweaves known to hail from the Ersari, Yomut, and Tekke tribes. Palas Kilims like this use a type of panel weave, in which tribal weaves combine multiple narrow pieces into one square Kilim like this one. This particular tribal Kilim enjoys a rich burgundy with stripes and fine geometric patterns with a gorgeous natural abrash. Keen eyes will further admire beige-brown, as well as navy blue and teal notes in the subtle accents therein. It's an exemplary choice of rustic charm, and its versatile square size offers vast interior design application.s
Condition:
This mid-century Persian Kilim further enjoys good condition for its age and origin, and is ready for the floor.
