A mid century masterpiece! This 1960’s Palwa Chandelier is made of 24-karat gilt brass and striking optic lens oval crystals. The chandelier has six candelabra lights with a down light in the center.
HISTORY: Founded in 1747, Palme Chandeliers is one of the oldest chandelier manufacturing companies in the world. Originally based in North Bohemia, the center of the art of glass industry, the Company initially worked on commissions for the Royal Courts. In the 20th Century, requests came in for other prestigious buildings and hotels. In 1945, the Chandelier factory was nationalized by the Government of Czechoslovakia, and consequently, the German owner and his workers immigrated to Germany where the company is now based. Palwa is a lighting company from Germany that after nearly 80 years still exists today. Palwa has a historical worldwide reputation as a manufacturer of beautiful light fittings with their own in-house design department and craftsmen who produce special one-off designs. For this reason their vintage pieces by Palme & Walter are becoming very rare to find and sought after. less
