The playful couple is wrapped in an embrace with the young man pouring water on the young woman's hair. She is grasping his arm. This beautiful figurine is named "Hungarian Easter Ritual" which stems from the practice of a girl choosing a boy to wash her hair, signifying that Spring and Easter are approaching. Later, the couple can decide if the young woman wants to reciprocate in washing the young man's hair. There is sure to be a lot of merriment with this activity. The backstamp reads: Herend Hungary with shield and crossed swords stamp, as well as an impressed "Herend 5553." Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Height from top to bottom=10-1/2 inches, Width at widest=7-3/4 inches, Depth from front to back=5 inches. This marvelous couple has been well cared for, gently displayed and is in excellent vintage condition, free from chips, cracks, repairs or other imperfections.
