DEGUE
A gorgeous French 1930 art deco chandelier in nickel plated solid brass or bronze. A beautifully shaped down light … more DEGUE
A gorgeous French 1930 art deco chandelier in nickel plated solid brass or bronze. A beautifully shaped down light chandelier holding 5 shades by Degué in clear frosted molded-pressed glass. Degué , the company directed by David Guéron, opened its doors around 1924. Guéron employed the ceramist and designer Cazaux as his artistic director and head designer. In 1936 production stopped and the company finally closed down in 1939.
All five shades are signed Degue. The chandelier is 69.5 cm high (27,36") and has a diameter of about 51 cm (20,08"). It's in excellent condition. One of the shades has a small white spot inside the glass near the signature. It's no damage. Just some dust or whatever that's inside the glass. Visible on the last two pictures..it won't show with the chandelier in place. The mounting is replated and patinated and the chandelier is newly wired. It holds five American candelabra base sockets.
