A rare French 1925-1935 art deco chandelier in nickel plated solid brass or bronze by Pierre Maynadier. Maynadier had a manufactory producing high quality art deco lighting during the interbellum in Paris (25 rue Saint-Sébastien). In the late 30s they started to make lighting in pressed brass in a modernist style. After the war the son of Pierre took over and the grandson after him. The firm finally closed its doors in 1966.
In the 20s Maynadier mainly used shades by Muller freres for his bronze and wrought iron fixtures. The shades that are signed P.Maynadier were produced exclusively for Maynadier by Muller Frères in Luneville.

This nice and well-made Maynadier fixture holds a beautiful and rare small bowl as well as three side-shades. Done in clear frosted molded-pressed glass. The three side-shades are signed Maynadier. The chandelier is represented on page 11 of the 1930 Maynadier product catalog. It has a total height of 78 cm (30,7") and a diameter of 61 cm (24"). And is in very good condition. The 90 years old nickel plating is still in good shape given its age and shows only minimal signs of wear. The chandelier comes newly wired. It holds four American candelabra base sockets.
