This French artist was noticed for his talent at the end of the 19th century, as soon as he graduated from the Beaux-Arts.
"The Harvester" was awarded the 2nd medal at the Paris Salon in 1907. It represents a farmer resting from his work. As a testimony of his effort, he wipes his forehead with his arm after removing his round hat. Shirtless, this athletic man holds his rake against his body.
A tribute to the courageous workers of the fields, this meticulously chiseled work is harmonious and touching.
