He started his career in a ceramics … more Josep Guinovart (1927-2007) was a Spanish artist who belonged to the Informalism movement. He started his career in a ceramics workshop before studying at the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona and joining the Dau al Set group. Guinovart's works were influenced by Surrealism and Abstract Expressionism, but he developed his distinctive style characterized by bright colors, bold brushstrokes, and the materiality of paint. He incorporated found objects and organic materials into his paintings, and he also created sculptures and engravings. Guinovart's sculptures were usually large-scale, while his engravings often featured abstract shapes and lines. His works were displayed in various Spanish and international museums and galleries, and he is considered one of the most important Catalan artists of the 20th century.
