With its incredible detail and texture, this hand knotted wool antique Chinese Ningxia bench runner is a captivating vision of woven beauty. The traditional Chinese style and symbolic colorway woven into this piece work together creating a truly unique look. This Chinese bench runner features thirteen medation squares and most likely was used to cover benches in a Chinese monastery. This is one single piece; however, they are often cut into individual squares and used as meditation mats. Each square depicts an open medallion while iconic fretwork patterns form the corner spandrels. It is enclosed with a Greek T-meander border.
