Skilfully made by Japanese craftsmen, this Ginbari cloisonné vase is stunning. Two simple roses - a pink/red one and a white one. The roses decorate one side, while the red body has an 'iridescent' geometric patterned background, with a barely visible small bird among bamboo fronds, hidden under the lacquer.
Pointille silver foil under transparent pigeon's blood back ground. Very fine gold wires are used for the flowers & silver wires for the leaves. Silver rim and base.
Marked by artist (Isma?) and "Japan"/"Cloisonne" plus a small flower stamp. Mid 20th. Century.
Listed by East2West Furniture.
