This sophisticated Mid-Century Modern ceramic bowl was realized in Germany circa 1950. It features a rectangular form with raised sides and a concave center with a black exterior and a finely striated gunmetal interior. Geometric banded lines in alternating tones of flaxen yellow and acqua blue segmented by black detailing at a perpendicular to the textured gunmetal base offering a dynamic formal and chromatic counterpoint. With its refined palate and beautiful hand crafted detailing, this bowl would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century to contemporary. While it is a perfectly functional bowl- ideal as a catch all or for storing any number of smaller items from candy to keys- it's also an objet d'art in its own right that promises to beautify any surface that it graces. It is in excellent vintage condition.
