This beautiful Amberina pitcher was produced by either PhoenixGlass or possibly Hobbs Brockunier. The design is inverted thumbprint. Believed circa 1875-1888.
The color starts with amber and graduates to ruby red. The body is a bulbous form with a trefoil spout, handle is reeded and applied. The pontil is polished and inverted. It is unsigned. It measures 8 1/2" tall and approximately 7 1/2" in diameter. The base measures 3" in diameter.
There are some nice air bubbles in the body of the pitcher, typical of glass from that period. The pitcher is in very nice condition as there are no cracks, chips or repairs. Manufacturing cuts around top. There are some surface scratches on the bottom of the pitcher.
