A beautiful French art deco flush mount made around 1928-1933. The base in nickel plated solid brass or bronze holds a globe in clear frosted molded-pressed glass by EJG (Etablissement Jean Gauthier). This model is never signed. It has a diameter of almost 15 cm (5,9 inches) and the total height of the ceiling fixture is 17,5 cm (6,89"). These flush mounts were made by Francis Hubens. A producer of art deco lighting in Paris during the interbellum. An identical base is represented in one of the old Hubens product catalogs. It was used for chandelier pendants and flush mounts. As flush mount it was available with seven different globes by the glass factories of Degue Muller and Gauthier.
It is in excellent condition. I have re-nickeled and patinated the mount. And the fixture is rewired with an American candelabra base socket.
The price is for one flush mount. I have four of them available.

Jean Gauthier had his first workshop at 12-14 rue Jean Robert in Paris and later expended with factories in the town of Ezanville. In the early days just after the first world war Gauthier made cameo shades that were sometimes signed Gauthier. The plants in Ezanville were opened for the production of art deco glassware in molded-pressed glass. Many art deco models are unsigned. Some are signed EJG for Etablissements Jean Gauthier. Others are signed J. Robert pseudonym for J. Gauthier based on the street name of the first workshop. In the 30s Gauthier started a line of shades done in opalescent semi-crystal, mainly cups. Some models are unsigned. Others are signed EZAN France, signature for Gauthier based on the city of the second plant.
