A nickel-plated bronze or solid brass1930-1935 French art deco ceiling fixture with a Hubens bowl made by Degué, in frosted moulded-pressed glass. Francis Hubens was a Paris based lighting manufacturer (located 68 rue des Archives). The company started around 1905 as Etablissements Carteyrade & Hubens. In 1927 it was renamed Etablissements Francis Hubens. Hubens used mainly shades made by Degue but also some Muller models were used for the bronze mounts. The bowl of this pendant shows the model number 609. It is unsigned. It exists in two versions. The one here with the model number. And one signed both with the signature of Degué and F. Hubens. The canopy of the pendant is represented on the 1931 Hubens poster. The pendant is 47 cm (18-1/2") high and the bowl has a diameter of 34,8 cm (13,7"). The chandelier is in very good condition. The shade is without any damages. There are numerous air bubbles visible inside the thick pressed glass. I have re-nickeled and patinated the mount. And rewired it with a standard US socket.
