A rare 1925-35 French art deco chandelier by the famous Paris based company of Georges Leleu. He founded the company by the turn of the century. It closed down in the late 30ies. The shade in thick molded-pressed glass is signed Jehel, it's held by a nickel-plated bronze fixture. The lamp is represented on the 1928 G. Leleu poster of which I show a picture. About this Jehel signature. In French Jehel is pronounced the same way as GL ... for Georges Leleu. These Jehel signed shades from the 20s were produced for Leleu by the glass factory Verreries des Hanots. See my other listings for a matching Leleu wall sconce.
The chandelier on offer is 70 cm (27,56") high and the bowl has a diameter of 35,9 cm (14,13"). It´s in excellent condition. Some minuscule chips on the inside of the rim, invisible from the outside. I have replated the mounting. And the lamp is rewired. It holds an American standard socket. If you have a low ceiling I can shorten the 3 rods.
