An excellent sense of perspective, light and dark, and the use of intricate detail are all present. There are probably at least six different types of wood employed, some of them rare, including more common woods like walnut, ash, and maple.

Nearly 25 inches tall overall, and 20 wide, this artwork has “wall power” and will delight the eye that falls upon it.

There are a couple of small nicks to the edge along the top left, and the corners have small disturbances as well. There are some spots in the finish on the bottom right, in the shadows of the fishing boats. There is some roughness to the finish but not to the point of detracting from the visual impact.

In my humble opinion none of these matters compromise the impact of the artistic merit of this work of art.
