This modernist cabinet was designed by Gunni Omann for the Danish manufacturer Omann Jun Møbelfabrik during the 1960s. It is made of high-quality rosewood. Its structure is very strong, with expressive graining, which gives furniture made of this wood a decorative and luxurious look. The bookcase has six shelves with adjustable height. The base is consist of tall, slender legs made of solid wood.
Gunni Omann was cinema passionate. In his projects, he often chose the shape of an elongated horizontal rectangle, suggesting anamorphic film landscapes, which he consistently reworked, doubled and combined.
Omann Jun Møbelfabrik A/S is a Danish manufacture that was founded by Andreas Omann in 1933. The family business initially focused on creating bedroom furniture, but in later years expanded production to include dining furniture, desks, sideboards and shelving systems. All made of high-quality woods such as teak, oak, mahogany and rosewood, which have been exported all over the world. Gunni Omann is the eldest son of Andreas Omann, who designed unique, individual pieces of furniture. Especially models 18, 75 and 55 became some of the most famous designs. The story goes that Dining Table 55 was such a success that at one point Hans J. Wegner visited furniture stores in Denmark to see what was the reason for the decline in sales of his own designs. The company's most popular furniture was designed by Gunni Omann, is considered a work of art and is still popular at international auctions.
The cabinet is in very good vintage condition. It has minor traces of use. The altered legs are not the original part of the furniture. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
designer records,
or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising
