Degué
A French art deco chandelier made around 1930 in nickel plated bronze or solid brass. The authentic mounting holds … more Degué
A French art deco chandelier made around 1930 in nickel plated bronze or solid brass. The authentic mounting holds a bowl by Degué in clear frosted molded-pressed glass depicting a rock garden. This model is represented in the Degué catalog. It is marked 'ROC'. Degué issued several models with uncommon signatures such as roc and negra. Roc is an old-fashioned French word for 'rock'. Still used in certain expressions like for instance 'solide comme un roc'.
The pendant light is in very good condition. I have re-nickeled and patinated the mounting. Note the canopy that makes a perfect match with the design of rocks and flowers on the bowl. This shade, model #706 in the old Degue product catalog, has a diameter of 35 cm (13-3/4"). The chandelier has a height of 46 cm (18,11"). I can shorten it on request. It is rewired and holds an American standard socket. For European countries I will place a E27 one.
