Description: Handcrafted Louis XV style ormolu, porcelain and gilt metal mounted marquetry and veneered mahogany and kingwood vitrine low table. Rare … more Handcrafted Louis XV style ormolu, porcelain and gilt metal mounted marquetry and veneered mahogany and kingwood vitrine low table. Rare table with decorative Fragonard porcelain medallions, raised on cabriole legs ending in ormolu sabots. The hinged gilt metal/ ormolu mounted serpentine glazed glass top with corner rosettes and pendant silk tassels has corresponding frame fitted with gold velvet lining. Underside of table and bottom of glass top are incised with “XV”. Some veneer loss on bottom frame and lid hinges need to be restored.
