With a decoratively subdued palette emphasizing cream, tan and straw, this west Anatolian antique room size carpet is centered by a diamond medallion enclosing buds and supported by cartouches and half side and end oval sprouting flowers. More flower sprays fill the field reserves. This is an eccentric Oushak and many of the period, as here, have no stylistic sisters. Each is one of a kind. The old ivory border shows peculiar split, geometric motives. less
